History of Light of World Apostolic Faith, Inc.
Where there is no vision, the people perish. (Proverb 29:18) On the fifth Sunday evening of June 1996, approximately 17 adults met at 1906 Brockton Ave. in Neptune, NJ. The home of the Maragh's is where Light of the World Apostolic Faith, Inc. (LOTW) began. On the following Sunday, July 7, 1996, service was held in the home of Adina Quarrie, also of Neptune. On this particular Sunday, a total of 22 people were in attendance.
Light of the World received it first offering from our dearly departed Deacon Dean, a total of $7.00. Deacon Deans gave the offering before the church was ever thought of our established. The following Sunday service was held at the Berkeley Carteret Hotel in Asbury Park, NJ. It is there that all services were held until February 9, 2000.
It wasn't always easy for us. However, with the grace and mercy of God on our side, we have made it thus far and we can not complain.
It has been approximately 16 years since the church was originally established.
Special thanks goes to Pastor Frison and the saints of Primitive Baptist Church, and Bishop Paul Commodore and the saints at Bibleway for allwoing use to use their facilities so many times when we were in need. Also, a very special thanks to Deacon Earl Gayle, Minister William Buckley, Minister Basil Shaw, Brother Cleveland Grant, Minister Everol Gillis, Deacon Frederick Stewart for their time and labor put into the construction of our beautiful place of worship. A special thank also goes to all the saints that fed these men with home cooked meals to give them strength to carry on the work of God.
Because Christ loves us so, this church has been blessed in so many ways. The writer declared, "to write the love of God would dry the ocean." As Pastor of the great assemble, I don't think any ocean on Earth is enough for me to write about the wondrous love of God.
To our members and friends, this is a time to rejoice and praise. Let us magnify the Lord together for the great things he has done. We have a job to do here in Asbury and Neptune. Let us go out and bring souls to Christ. Stay prayerful and strong in the Lord, for only he knows best.
