Astley Stewart was born to Caleb and Rossetta Stewart. Immediately after his birth, the midwife proclaimed, "This baby boy is going to be a preacher." He was the last of eleven children; six sisters and five brothers.
Pastor Stewart when to school at the Williamsfield Elementary School in Jamaica. At the age of 12, he gave his life to the Lord. He was an active member in the Church of God, under the active leadership of Pastor Vannley Earl. After several years of faithfulness, Pastor Stewart was ordained a minister and later served as a assistant to the Pastor. In 1972, Pastor Stewart met and married Gloria Icilda. From this union, two sons were born; Astley and Kurt. After his marriage, Pastor Stewart went on to receive his GED from Neptune Senior High School. He then furthered his educational studies at Brookdale Community College as a Business Management major. With great wisdom and spiritual insight, Mother Crudup ordained Pastor Stewart as an Elder in 1975. In this position, he was faithful to the people and the call of God on his life, as he served the First Pentecostal Church as Senior Elder for over 20 years. Under the leadership of the Lord, Pastor Stewart decided that it was time to move to a higher level of ministry. On Decemeber 13, 1996, he was ordained and installed as Pastor of Light of the World Apostolic Faith, Inc. From that day, the Lord has been using and blessing him. Doors have been opened and souls have joined this fellowship of apostolic believers. Pastor Stewart's motto is "God is good, God is great, God is worthy to be praised." |
A Letter from Pastor StewartI greet you in the majestic, matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who has saved us with His sufficient grace and mercy. It is with great honor that I humbly stand before you as Pastor of this wonderfully anointed establishment. I know that it is of not fault of my own, but has been ordained by God himself before my existence.
I can hardly believe that it has been over 16 years since the establishment of this church. Through many toils and snares, we have endured thus far with the guiding hands of God. Let us be grateful for this wondrous opportunity to be called out of the darkness to labor in the vineyard. Therefore beloved, let us not be slothful, but diligent in the Lord's service. Our Father has gone to prepare a place for us, one this world could never compare. Let us be sure in knowing that it will be our eternal home. A sincere thank you goes to the members and supporters of LOTW, especially my dear wife, Evangelist Gloria Stewart, and sons. And as I always say, "God is good, God is great, God is worthy to be praise." Yours in Christ, Pastor Dr. A. Stewart |
And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. (Jeremiah 3:15)
